St Mary’s Rochfortbridge produced a great all round team performance to defeat St Paul’s in their section of the North Westmeath U-10 competition. St Mary’s completely dominated from the start and were much to strong for their opponents winning by a huge score line of 38 scores to 0! Almost everyone on the team got their name on the score sheet and hopefully this will encourage the players to go on to more success

St Marys U-10 team compete in Multyfarnham Blitz Saturday 28th August . St Marys U-10 team travelled to Multyfarnham to compete in a Blitz last Saturday 28th August . Our first game against the hosts was a great game with the Bridge losing by just one score after a great second half comeback. Our second game against Tyrrellspass was another tight game, but thankfully we won this game by a single point despite missing several good chances. The final game against Ballynacaragy saw a lot of tired players just fail to win in another extremely close game. Despite laying siege to the Bal goal in the second half we just came up short losing by 2 scores to 1. The players were then presented with medals and refreshments by our excellent hosts after the game. Our under 10's string together two good results. Tues 10th Aug. The u-10 panel had a busy week playing two challenge games in the space of three days. First up was Milltownpass. Here St Marys produced a great display to run out easy winners in what had been a close game up until half time. The second game saw a tight and exciting encounter end in a deserved draw against Multyfanham. This game was an excellent example of how to block down you opponent and credit must go to both teams for superbly executing this skill. But remember, practise makes perfect!
